Born in 1972, Itla, Burdwan (West Bengal), this multiple award-winning artists, has had won multiple awards including the highly prestigious AIFACS Painting Award, New Delhi in 2010, amongst many others. Having completed B.F.A. from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh,(C.G.), the artist has participated in more than 50 shows till date. Since his first solo show in 2016, “The Magnificent Bull '' his Magnum Opus, his works have been gaining a lot of accolades for portraying village life, using special symbology of the bulls, inspired by Hindu mythology, the Bull or Nandi, which plays a prominent part in his paintings. Through his paintings, the artist tries to evoke empathy, although effortlessly expressing the sheer raw power, pride, emotion and beauty of the great beast, whose iconography is rooted deeply in the Indian culture and psyche and that is why it is a part of us all in a way. The artist resides in Mumbai presently.
